Rolanda C. Lattimore, "Ro," a beloved sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and faithful friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, in Columbia, Maryland, at the age of sixty-nine. She was born on September 18, 1955, in Winchester, Virginia, to the late Marvin and Rosetta Jackson.
Rolanda was a proud graduate of Clarke County High School, class of 1973, and went on to attend college in Atlanta, Georgia. She returned to the area where she was employed at the State Department, USAID (Agency for International Development) in Washington, D.C. She was able to travel to foreign countries and delighted in sharing those experiences with loved ones. Her favorite moments were any occasion where she could enjoy family dinners. She loved her chunky jewelry and belts. She was a member of First Baptist, Glenarden, Maryland, and loved all the gospel songs of Yolanda Adams.
Rolanda leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, Kendall M. Jackson (Rita Jackson); her "special sons", Jonathan and Nick; four uncles, James Turner Sr., George Turner Sr., William "Frankie" Jackson Sr., and John "Brother" Jackson; one aunt, Patricia Trim; and her entire family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She has one God Sister, Yolanda Smith, and two Goddaughters, Becky, and Toni H.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lattimore; and her brother, Mark A. Jackson; and other extended family members.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, in Winchester, Virginia. Elder James Turner Sr. will serve as the eulogist, and Rev. Dr. Barnabus Sewell will officiate.
Family and friends will gather for comfort and reflections between 11:00 and 11:50 A.M. The service of celebration will begin at noon.
At her celebration of life, to honor our loved one, she asked her family to wear blue jeans and white tops. An inurnment ceremony will be privately conducted at the Charles Buster Jackson Cemetery immediately following the Service.
