Romain Virginia Jackson
Romain Virginia Jackson, 91, of Winchester, VA., passed away September 16, 2011 at Golden Living Center-Rose Hill in Berryville, VA. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, Virginia.
She was born October 31, 1919 in Strasburg, VA, the daughter of the late Frederick Douglas Smith and Beatrice Avery.
She was married to Chester Jackson who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Shirley H. Burks of Winchester, VA; two sons, Charles Wilson Harris of Hagerstown, MD and Philip S. Harris, Sr. of Winchester, VA; 16 grandchildren, 32 grand-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
A son, Russell Harris and a daughter, Ann E Harris; five sisters, Josephine Ford, Irene Baltimore, Sara Smith, Emma Smith and Lucille Ball; five brothers, Robert Smith, Harold Smith, Martin Smith, Fred Smith, and Hunchy Smith all preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 12:00 pm Tuesday September 20, 2011 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA, with Pastor Gilbert M. Mack, Jr.
Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church in Winchester, VA.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
