Stacy Felicia Pogue

Stacy Felicia Pogue was born to Edward Leroy Pogue and Susie Lotts Pogue on August 2, 1963, in Washing- ton, DC. She was one of 5 children who was raised in and who attended public schools in the District of Columbia. She graduated from Ballou Senior High School in 1981. Stacy resided in the DC Metro area most her life. In the latter part of her life, Stacy moved to Martinsburg, West Virginia where she re- sided until her transition.

Stacy enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1983. After her military career, she returned to the DC Metro area. Upon her return, she secured employment at The Catholic University of America as a Campus Po- lice Officer. In 1988, she joined the Metro Transit Police Department where she remained for 13 years. In 2018, Stacy joined Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms (ATF) as a contractor.

Stacy was an avid reader and loyal Washington Redskins fan. She enjoyed music and was a collector of many paintings by contemporary African American artists. Stacy actively worked with many community service organizations and was a co-founding member of the African American Coalition of Transit Police, a chapter of the National Black Police Association. Stacy had a generous heart and showed this through the many charitable organizations she supported such as the Blinded Veterans Association, the Alzheimer's Association, World Vision USA, and the Black Lives Matter Foundation. Prior to her transition, she spearheaded the Pogue Family Headstone Project where she sought to raise funds to lay a memorial head- stone on the graves of her parents, brother, sister and cousin.

Stacy is predeceased by her mother and father, Roy and Susie Pogue. She was also predeceased by her twin brother Tracy Pogue, oldest sister Cynthia (Sandy) Lotts Germany, brother Edward (Louie) Pogue and sister Charnee (Nee Nee) Pogue.

Stacy is survived by her husband, William Taylor, Jr. and her dog-son Cash. She is also survived by her mother and father in-law Deacon William and Deaconess Grace Taylor, her niece Michelle Germany, one great nephew Trevor Germany, and two great nieces Nyaa Germany and Mikaila Germany. One goddaughter Talithia Scott and one god-son Ian Kirksey, and her aunt Florine Lotts Mungin and an Uncle Cornelius Alphonso Pogue.

The family would like to acknowledge Ms. Millie LaPrad and Daniella LaPrad for their unwavering love, kindness, and support. Stacy will be missed by a host of other cousins, family members and many, many friends.

Military Honors will be Afforded by the United States Airforce and VFW Post # 2123

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 am at The Church of the Rock, 629 Virginia Ave Front Royal, VA with Bishop Al Ford officiating. Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.

Inurnment will be private.

We will be following CDC Guidelines for Covid -19 and Mask must be worn.
