Stella Virginia Jackson Mason, 84, of Berryville, Virginia died June 4, 2009 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Virginia.

She was born on August 31, 1924 in Franklintown, WV the daughter of the late Walter. H. Jackson and Effie Howard Jackson. She was reared by her grandparents, Oscar and Mary Howard. She attended schools in Rippon and Charles Town, WV and graduated from the W.T.B. Williams School in Berryville, Virginia. She graduated from the Winchester Memorial Hospital Nursing Program in 1965.

She worked as a LPN at Winchester Memorial Hospital and worked in the ICU and post-partum until her retirement in August 1989.

She was a long-time member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Berryville and served on the alter guild.

She was married to William(Billy) Mason on November 28, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD. He died on December 19, 1979.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Ricardo Mason of Berryville, Virginia; five daughters, Billy Dennis, Sharon Parrish(Gary), and Jeanie Mason all of Berryville, Virginia, Shelia Mason of Bellingham Washington and Claudia Mason of Fontana, California; four granddaughters, Kennis D. Powell, Jillian Grubb, Kelsey Parrish and Lacy Mason; three great-grandchildren, Lindsay Dennis, Kaitlynne(Katie)Dennis and Donald Powell, Jr.; a number of neices and nephews and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Annie J. Lewis.

Celebration of life will be Monday, June 8, 2009 at 1:00 pm at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Berryville, Virginia.

Interment will be in Milton Valley Cemetery in Berryville, Virginia
