Susie M. McDowell

Susie M. McDowell departed this life on April 3, 2014, after a lengthy battle with Dementia in Winchester, Virginia.

She was born October 19 ^th , 1928 in Mobile, Alabama to daughter of the late Edward McDowell and Eloise Moreland McDowell. She was the third born of three daughters. Susie was raised and educated in AL. At a young age she was taught to know about the Lord from her mother, and accepted the Lord as her Savior for her life. She was a member of the Bronx Christian Fellowship Church.

She was always willing to help her friends with their kids or any other task they needed. Our mother was an amazing lady. She spent her life caring for others. She never put herself before others. She would often go out of her way to reach those who were in need. She was also often a counselor when the times called for it. She was a spiritual person, and we know it was her faith that helped her through these last few years.

She leaves to cherish her memory; three sons, Robert (Yvonne) Mc Connell of Winchester, VA., Gregory McConnell of Chicago, IL. and Paul Turner of New York; one sister, Patricia Keeby of Mobile, AL; three grandchildren, Vincent McConnell of Concord, CA., Vestoria McConnell-Vartan of Chicago, Il and Rashanna McConnell of Los Angeles, CA.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Alee Eley and Juanita Jones.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 12 ^th , 2014 at the Bronx Christian Fellowship Church at 1015 E. Gunhill Road in Bronx, NY with Pastors Tim and Que English.

Visitation will be one hour before service at the church.

Burial will be in Rosedale and Rosehill Cemetery in Linden, NJ.
