Obituary

TaJuana Denise Carter

On March 19, 2020, a beautiful spirit was called home. TaJuana Denise Carter (51), while surrounded by loved ones, peacefully transitioned from earth to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, after an intense journey with cancer.

TaJuana was born on December 30, 1968, to Charles Carter and Eva Grant, in Warrenton, VA. She was raised in a military home, living in Virginia, Alabama, Maryland, and Texas throughout her childhood. She grew up with her little brother, Charles Carter, who she lovingly nicknamed "Donnie" and her stepsister Tywanna Burke. She graduated in 1987 from Eleanor Roosevelt High School, in Greenbelt, MD. After high school she attended DeVry University in Ohio, where she studied business. She went on to follow career in finance, eventually starting her own tax preparation and accounting business.

TaJuana was, of all things, a phenomenal mother. She gave life to five beautiful daughters; Cederica, Jensie, Keitha, Nyla, and Heaven (who passed in infancy). And she extended her motherly love to many others whom she came in contact with that seemed to need a little extra support.

TaJuana was talented, brilliant, and creative. She could always be found with her nose in a book and was constantly educating herself. She was spontaneous and enjoyed trying new things. She loved going on "spur-of-the-moment" road-trips and little adventures with her girls. She had an infectious smile that drew people in, and a contagious spirit that held them. She was known for being witty and was the "come-back" queen! Any room she was in was always full of love and laughter.

She was a dedicated member of Victory Christian Ministries Int'l, under the leadership of Pastors Tony and Cynthia Brazelton. She served in the dance ministry with her daughters and lead the 10-12-year-old's in the children's ministry. Many of whom she continued to support into their adult lives.

TaJuana was extremely compassionate and protective. A truly cheerful giver, she was generous and loved others unconditionally. She was forgiving and could never hold a grudge. She was always encouraging others, and always put others before herself.

In heaven she watches over her mother, Eva Grant. Her father; Charles Carter. Her stepfather; Thomas Grant. Her daughters; Cederica Carter (Jesse), Jensie Wilson, Keitha Berryman, and Nyla Carter. Her grandsons; Caiden, Camari, Jeffrey, Kingsley, Ja'Colby, and Kaileb. Her brother; Charles "Donnie" Carter and stepsister Tywanna Burke. Her Aunts and Uncles; Richard (Loretta), Joseph (Mamie), Eddie, Margaret, Dolly, Pearl (Nate), Priscilla, Faye, Clyde, and Carla. Her nieces and nephews; Charnesha (AJ), Deonae, Donovan, Deyvon, and Chyanne. Her dear friend Carla, and a host of family and friends.

And with them, TaJuana left a final desire.

To my friends and family,

This is my greatest heart's desire.

First and foremost, I want you all to know that I love you. Please forgive me for the times I may have hurt you. I want you to know that I have forgiven you for any time you may have hurt me in my life. I want you to make peace with each other. Know that I did not fear death itself. I think it is not the end, but a new beginning for me.

Finally, I ask that when I come into your mind, think of me before I became seriously ill. Think of our good times, our laughs and love.

Remember me this way.
