Theresa Regina Hayes Brown

Theresa Hayes-Brown 48, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away July 1, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones after her brief battle with cancer ended.

Born in Heidelberg, Germany, on September 23, 1977, to Mary (Gilkerson) Hayes of Winchester, VA, and Roosevelt Hayes Jr. of Coates N. Carolina.

She was a loving wife, sister, and most importantly mother. Those left to cherish in her memory include her husband Colin Brown, sisters Cassandra Hayes (Fort Pierce, FL), R. Jerome Hayes (Rosalind) Winchester, VA, sister Danette Hayes (Winchester, VA); daughters Breana, Bridget and Ayana; Her granddaughter Gabrielle Hayes, nieces; Sykqueria Hayes and Nikita Hayes as well as her nephews Mikey and Apollo (all of Fort Pierce, FL).

Theresa is survived by her uncle Joe Gilkerson of Winchester, VA., and host of cousins and cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary (Gilkerson) Hayes.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, Virginia. Rev. Bryan Edwards will be officitating.

Family will receive friends one hour before service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.
