Uklin Shand
Uklin Shand, 75, of Winchester, VA., departed this life on August 23, 2013 at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester ,VA.
Uklin Shand was born September 30, 1937 in Kingston, Jamaica the son of Ivano Uklin and Retinella Lynch Uklin.
He was married to Betty Burks Shand of Winchester, VA
He is survived by three sons; Patrick Shand , and Moses Shand both of Kingston, Jamaica, and Keith Burks of Winchester, VA.; two daughters, Donnette Shand of Bronx, New York and Vanessa Jackson of Winchester; one sister, Annesta Lobban of Jamaica; a host of grand, great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Garfield "Charlie" Shand and Jeffery Burks; and one brother, Irvin Shand preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday August 30, 2013 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Winchester, VA, with Rev. Kevin Wilson officiating.
Family will receive friends Thursday August 29th at 7-8:00 pm at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, VA.
Pallbearers will be Minister James Dokes, Lynn Williams, Eugene Polston, Jr., Joey Nickens, Patrick Shand and Richard "Dread" Miller.
Interment will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, VA.
