Vanessa Leigh Witherall

Vanessa Leigh Witherall, of Washington DC, passed away on September 10, 2016 at her home in Washington, DC. Vanessa was born November 11,1952 in Washington DC. She was the daughter of the late Dallas Napoleon Witherall Sr. of Strasburg, VA, and the late Bobbie Loretta Coclough Witherall of Greeneville, TN. Vanessa was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in North West, Washington, DC.

She attended Strasburg High School in Strasburg, VA and spent most of her adult life in Washington, DC. She was employed in the medical and legal professions.

Vanessa Witherall is survived by her sons; Christopher Dante Witherall of Washington,DC, Jerome Anthony Witherall of Strasburg, VA and Antoine Aaron Monroe of Washington, DC; sisters and brothers, Stephanie Witherall Fields and husband Oris Fields of Silver Springs, MD, Della Reese Martin of Chaptico, MD, L. Marquetta Mitchell and husband Wilbert Mitchell of Strasburg, VA, Roger Thomas and Robert Coclough Witherall and his wife Delores Witherall all of Winchester, VA; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Andre Witherall; husband, Jerome Lyles and her brother, Dallas Napoleon Witherall, Jr.

Vanessa was a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Strasburg United Methodist Church located at 114 W. Washington Street in Strasburg, VA.
