Virginia Smith Williams

Virginia Smith Williams, 91, of Berryville, Virginia died Tuesday February 17, 2009 at Rose Hill Nursing Home in Berryville, Virginia.
Mrs. Williams was born April 6, 1917 in Clarke County, Virginia the daughter of the late Bertrand Smith and Minnie Wilson Smith. She was a member of the St. Luke Baptist Church in Berryville, Virginia. She served in the Missionary, past church clerk, trustee and a member of the choir. She was also one of the Mothers of the church. She was owner and operator of Miss Virginia's Kindergarten in Berryville, Virginia.
She was married to James Beverly Williams who preceded her in death.

She leaves to her memory two sisters, Ruth Hubbard of Boyce, Virginia and Theresa Potter of Connecticut; two sister-in laws, Julia Smith and Anna Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Three sisters, Elizabeth Robinson, Frances Underwood, and Clara Datcher; four brothers, Stanley Smith, Charles Smith, Milton Smith and Bertrand Smith, Jr. all preceded her in death.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday February 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke Baptist Church in Berryville, Virginia, with Rev. John G. Scott, Sr. officiating.

Family will receive friends one hour before service at the church.

Friends may visit Friday February 20, 2009 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Bertrand Hubbard, Gary Potter, Bobby Smith, Reginald Smith, Joseph Smith II, and Ralph Underwood.

Burial will be in Milton Valley Cemetery in Berryville, Virginia.
