William "Tank" Edward Beamer, Jr.
William E. Beamer, Jr., 65, of Winchester, VA, Died Friday, August 17, 2012 at his home in Winchester, VA.
Mr. Beamer was born July 14, 1947 in Winchester, VA., the son of Mary L. Beamer of Winchester, VA and the late William E. Beamer, Sr. He was an employee of the Winchester Public Schools for 27 years until his retirement in July, 2011. He was a diehard Redskin fan. Mr. Beamer was a member of the VFW Post # 6044, the Hound Dog Club and the Club House. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era.
He leaves to cherish his a son, William E. Beamer, III of Winchester, VA; his mother, Mary L. Beamer; of Winchester, VA.; a brother, Ray E. Beamer of Winchester, VA.; two sisters, Linda Kay Beamer (Burleigh) of Hampton, VA., and Debbie Washington (CH) of Winchester, VA; two nephews, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday August 22, 2012 at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, VA., with Rev. James Page and Sr. Lay Leader Clyde Williams.
Family will receive friends 7:00 8:00 pm Tuesday August 21, 2012 at the funeral home.
Visitation will also be Tuesday 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Irvin Baltimore, Charles Butler, Larry Elliott, Walter Lowry, Charles Washington, III, and Vance Washington.
Honorary pallbearers will be the VFW Post 6044, the Hound Dog Club and the Club House.
Interment will be at Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, VA., with Military Honors afforded by United States Army.
