William Augustus Skinner
William A. Skinner, 77, of Winchester, Virginia died Sunday May 10, 2009
at his home in Winchester, Virginia.
Mr. Skinner was born March 9, 1932 in Harlem, N.Y., the son of the late Edward Ecclesiastes Skinner and Mary Bennett Skinner. He was a member of Hollis Congregational Church in Hollis, N.Y. where he was a member of the choir and a Deacon. He was a United States Air Force veteran.
He was married to Rubye Greene Skinner of Winchester, VA for 45 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory with his wife; three sons, William Eric Skinner of Winchester, VA., Richard Skinner of Queens N.Y., and Darran Skinner of Los Angeles, CA; two daughters, Gayle Skinner and Saundra Murph both of Winchester, VA.; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
One sister, Edna Spencer; and four brothers, James Skinner, Robert Skinner, Leonard Skinner, and Russell Skinner all preceded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday May 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church Without Walls Ministry (306 East Piccadilly Street) in Winchester, Virginia with Rev. Jonetta Carter officiating.
Family will received friends one hour before service at the church.
Friends may call Friday 2-5:00 pm at Cartwright Funeral Home in Winchester, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
