Bruce E. Cartwright is a native of Winchester, Virginia. However, his family moved to Petetsburg, Virginia when he was five. He move back to Winchester, Virginia in 1980 after completing Mortuary school to help his aunt keep the business going after the death of her husband and founder of Cartwright Funeral Home, Joseph G. Cartwright (1980) He later married Ann Turner and they with the help of his father Cartwright W. Cartwright (funeral Director) purchased the funeral home from his Aunt Pocahontas Jackson Cartwright in 1986. The funeral home is not just a business fulfilling a need. But Ministry of Comfort II Corinthians 1:3-4

Myles W. D. Cartwright worked with his brother Joe G. Cartwright and then with his nephew Bruce E. Cartwright until his death. His service to this firm and my life is greatly missed.

Charles Waddell Cartwright, Sr., was a licensed funeral director in Petersburg, Virginia. He was the father of Bruce E. Cartwright and co-owner and spiritual advisor, and motivator. He died on July 22, 2000. However, his spirit lives on through his son and his commitment to love and caring for the families they serve.
